After the success of the first
Conference on the Logistics of Perishable Products, I Fresh Opportunities,
held in Vitoria last year, it was decided to hold the second conference at
the Sofitel Hotel Miami on June 16-17 2003. II Fresh Opportunities, organised
once again by VIA , Promoción del Aeropuerto de Vitoria S.A., and sponsored by
Miami International Airport, was attended by more than 150 delegates from
Latin America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the United States, with 40
speakers and chairpersons who covered wide variety of subjects. These ranged
from strategies in order to break into new markets, to optimising logistics
or complying with new government regulations, always oriented towards relations
between the Latin American and USA markets and the rest of the world. Bill
Spohrer, ex-President of TIACA and with a profound knowledge of the air cargo
industry, was chairman and presented Jesús Mª de Lapatza Urbiola, President of
VIA, Promoción del Aeropuerto de Vitoria, who explained that Miami was chosen
for this event because of its historical relations with Spain and its status
as a consolidating centre for the growing markets of Perishable Products from
Latin America.
Thanks to the success and repercussions that
Fresh Opportunities is having in the air cargo sector, due to the
high standards of the talks
and to its instructive and practical nature, VIA, Promoción del Aeropuerto
de Vitoria has started to organise III Fresh Opportunities 2006.
