The airport has a 3500 metre runway which allows for trouble-free take off and
landing of even the largest aircraft, day or night. The runway is built with hydraulic concrete
which optimises adherence and durability. The current apron or platform covers an area of 170,000 m˛.
Work is currently in progress to equip the airport with the ILS CAT III instrument landing system, which
will provide aircraft with high safety levels when landing in the adverse weather conditions.
Likewise, the airport has a first-class signalling system, as well as a category II and III precision
approach lighting system on runway 04, luminous beacons along the axis and edges of the runway as well
as a guidance system for taxiing with luminous "No Entry" signs and traffic lights at waiting points.
Runway signalling is complete with lights on designators, threshold, touchdown zone and fixed distance
as well as along the axis and edge of taxiways.
