Near Vitoria Airport there are major road and rail transport networks serving the following transport routes: North Africa - Lisbon - Madrid - Basque Country - Paris - London - Frankfurt and Porto - Basque Country - Barcelona - Southern France - Italy.

The average traffic along these motorways and dual carriageways amounts to more than 15,000 trucks per day, most of them being international traffic, while the railway line is used by several cargo trains every day in both directions. These infrastructures are to be expanded with the construction in the near future of a high-speed train which will join Madrid and Paris.

Taking advantage of this exceptional location, the Vitoria Logistics Corridor is being developed as a vital logistical centre for intermodal trans-European transport networks. This concept groups together a set of specialised logistics infrastructures which having more than 5,000,000 m² responds to a number of different logistical needs, including infrastructures. Located at its very centre, Vitoria Airport, represents an essential element of this infrastructure.

Vitoria Transport Centre
Very near the airport, the Vitoria Transport Centre (CTV), a major goods handling centre, has been in operation for a number of years. This centre is specialised in all activities relating to transport, logistics and distribution. CTV is currently the subject of major extension work and will eventually occupy an area of 900,000 m².
Goods Railway Station
Near CTV, RENFE (Spanish National Railways) have a 153,000 intermodal railway terminal which consolidates goods sent to Central Europe and major cities of the Iberian Peninsula on a daily basis.
Araia and Salvatierra Industrial Estates
These industrial estates, with a total surface area of more than 1,400,000 m², were created in response to the logistical needs of transport company that operate along the Madrid-Paris highway (N1), 25 km to the north of Vitoria Airport. These house major logistics centres for foodstuffs, cars and tyres, as well as transport fleet maintenance centres with a surface area of more than 550,000 m².
Arasur
This newly created logistics platform located in Ribabellosa, 25 km to the south of Vitoria Airport, has 2,000,000 m² of land and boasts a direct rail link with the port of Bilbao. This provides Arasur with the specific characteristics of a port logistics activities area or dry port. Likewise, an intermodal transhipment centre, a storage, regulation and distribution centre and an international transit centre are planned.
Subillabide
The construction of this new industrial estate with an approximate surface area of 1,000,000 m², is planned for the beginning of 2003. Located just a few kilometres from Vitoria, in the Nanclares area, it will have links with the N-1 highway, the airport and industrial area of Jundiz.
Jundiz
Located next to the Madrid-Paris N-1 highway and near the airport, this is the largest industrial estate in Alava and contains companies from a range of different sectors, including logistics. Currently, it covers an area of 4,900,000 m² although when work to extend this estate is complete, it will be an extremely important industrial complex with a total of 6,500,000 m².
Ports of Bilbao and Pasajes
The ports of Bilbao (45 minutes away by motorway) and Pasajes (75 minutes by motorway) are major ports for incoming and outgoing oil products, general goods, vehicles and steel. They handle nearly 30 million tonnes of goods every year and are extremely important for sea traffic between Europe and America, with more than five hundred connections to ports throughout the world.
Technology Park of Alava
The Technology Park of Alava, located just a few kilometres from Vitoria Airport and with a total surface area of 1,171,864 m², contains a large number of advanced technology companies, especially aeronautics, and offers the most sophisticated telematic equipment as well as a complete range of services for presentations and meetings.
VIAP- Vitoria Industrial Air Park
